Appearance of the land before work camp
There are only a broken bridge and a small footpath.



From October 2007 to February 2008
A big bamboo house was built on the land where there were only a broken bridge and a small
footpath before. It is all self- build. At the same time, bridge was repaired.
All these construction was done by donation from Japanese friends.



1: Making a road (leveling and packing sand)

3: Others

Campers are listening instruction of a director.

We had a seminar every night.
We discussed a lot.
Each person accepted the difference of value between Malaysian, Filipina and Japanese.

Everyone enjoy mandi (Malay style bath in river) everyday.

We had a barbeque party with village people
and constructors.Everyone congratulated on
the completion of a bamboo house.

We painted pictures on the wall of kitchen on the last day.

4: Mini study tour ( 2days )

At Tanjung Aru beach.

Visiting mosque. (an Islamic temple)

A village of Filipina illegal immigrant.

Their houses were destroyed by the government
in January. Many children were missing because of this.

Visiting an elementary school in village.  

Visiting War Memorial.

Visiting facility of the disabled.
The 1st work camp leader, Makky.

A Water village of Philippine Bajau immigrant which has 4000 people. An NGO (Food for Hungry) gives educational support to 300 children who cannot go to school.



5: Peace seminar

We heard from Mr Gotong (84 years old) what Japanese army did in Sabah in the age of the Japanese occupation.
